Starting weight = 214 lbs.
Ending weight = 213.2 lbs.
Yipee! For the second week in a row, I lost weight. True, it was slightly less than a pound, but it’s still a trend — a positive one.
I had a couple of higher carb days, but I also skipped breakfast a couple days (the so-called 16/8 fast). So it pretty much evened out.
We were at the lake for the Labor Day weekend. Home now, and plan to stay here a while. Settle down a bit.
With the passing of Labor Day, summer has unofficially ended in the USA. When it unofficially began here on Memorial Day (May 25), I weighed 220.4 pounds. So I lost 7.2 pounds over the summer — or a shade over 3% of my beginning body weight.
Nothing much to brag about, but I’m feeling good.
I can’t say I ever felt deprived this summer. Certainly, I never felt starved, not even on days I skipped a meal.
By Christmas, I expect to reach my target weight of 199 pounds.
Perhaps I’m being overly optimistic.
It wouldn’t be the first time.

Just have to tell you how much I enjoy your occasional emails. Interesting and to the point. My husband and I having been doing a low carb, high fat diet for the past 15 months, and really love it. Thanks for your unique take on this way of eating. I always look forward to reading it.

Paulette — Thank you for the kind words. I never thought of my take on LCHF eating as “unique,” but I try to be honest.
