Yes, I’m still here! While my blogging has been sporadic in the last couple months, I’ve stayed on the low-carb wagon and maintained my weight.
In fact, in December, I actually lost a bit. At the beginning of the month, I weighed 211.6 pounds; today, I weighed in at 209.8, nearly two pounds lighter.
However, I weighed the same back in early November as I do today, so I am basically in a stall. Or I would be if I were trying to lose more weight. I haven’t been trying, though. I am content right now to maintain my 50+ pound weight loss for the year. Perhaps in the coming year, I will try to drop down another level — say, to 199 pounds.
I indulged a bit on festive occasions. Overall, I ate two or three homemade Christmas cookies and a small dessert pastry, and drank a couple glasses of light beer. But for the most part, I avoided treats and just ate my regular low-carb fare. I ate plenty. At no point did I ever feel deprived or hungry.
For December, I consumed a daily average of 1,824 calories, 128g fat, 121g protein, 49g carbohydrates and 16g fiber. That’s an average of 33g net carbs per day.
I ate eggs almost every day, usually cooked in coconut oil.
I drank coffee laced with heavy cream.
And I lost weight.
The new cords I got for Christmas have a 38 waist, and they fit just fine! I donated all of my size-44 pants to Goodwill.
To get through the holiday season without gaining a pound feels great!
