Starting weight = 212.6 lbs.
Ending weight = 212.8 lbs.
My eating was inconsistent last week. I did an intermittent fast on two days (skipping breakfast), but I also went out for dinner twice, which resulted in a couple higher-carb days.
Essentially my weight stayed put.
Interestingly, my waist-size seems to be shrinking. I haven’t been measuring my waist, but I put on a pair of pants today that I hadn’t worn for a couple weeks. They had more space in the waist.
Looking at the individual days for last week, I ate fewer than 50 grams of total carbs on only three of the days. On two of the other four days, I ate more than 60 grams total. Indeed, on one of those days, I ate 84 grams of total carbs. Even with 19 grams of fiber, that is a lot for me.
I can keep my weight level eating the way I ate last week, but I can’t lose.

When I was on low carb strictly (that is, without intermittent fasting), my weight didn’t change much, but my belts seemed to get a bit bigger. It took a while, though, and I bounced up and down a lot.
If intermittent fasting doesn’t work for you, then I’ve exhausted my recommendations. 😉 I’m currently eating 16:8 most days (meaning I eat only during an 8 hour window), but sometimes I only eat within a few hour window. It depends on how I feel. If I get cold, this is supposedly an indication that my body is dropping my basal metabolic rate, so I’ll eat earlier or more often. I also tend to eat 3 meals on Sundays, as we eat breakfast after church. If I feel OK and schedule them, I’ll eat during a short window (a few hours) one-two days per week, then 16:8 other days other than Sunday.
One other thing I’ve done is undergone some longer fasts. I’ve done several (3? 4?) three-day fasts and one five-day fast. Dr. Fung says that longer fasts correct insulin resistance faster. I believe him, as it does seem as if they do: I come out of the fast actually not very hungry. I”m down about 6 pounds (gym scale, with full clothing; only about 3 pounds on home scale, with no clothing) since 9/14, but that includes 5 days of fasting (I did not eat at all those days).
I look forward to seeing how you progress.

Bob — I’m going to add a day of 16:8 fasting and see if that helps.
