Starting weight = 219.4 lbs.

I’m writing this report a day later than usual because we are just returned from the lake — Higgins Lake in northern Lower Michigan, to be exact.
Around here, the common thing to say is that you were “up north” for the weekend. I’m not sure how far north you need to drive to be “up north,” but Higgins Lake is far enough. It’s only 100 miles south of the Straits of Mackinaw.
I could’ve posted the report from the lake. We weren’t roughing it. The Andersons have never been the roughing it type. I had my laptop with me, and the family cottage has better Internet access than we have at home. However, I lacked one key item for making my weekly report — my trusty bathroom scale.
Right now, I’m wishing that someone had broken into the house while we were up north and stolen my trusty bathroom scale.
It wasn’t kind to me today, showing a gain-back of over two pounds. Of course, that is over an 8-day period. Who knows what I weighed early Sunday morning?
We ate out three times over the extended weekend, and I’m thinking that my estimates of the nutritional composition of those meals may have been off. In other words, I could’ve eaten more carbs and calories than I recorded.
Either that, or, as many believe, the very air up north is fattening.
